This is the DHI hair transplant.
DHI hair transplantation is another modern variant of hair transplantation. The main distinguishing feature of DHI hair transplantation compared to FUE hair transplantation is that no openings need to be created for the hair roots to be inserted.
No sutures, scars or incisions are required. The hair follicles or grafts taken from the donor area are implanted directly into the affected areas immediately after harvesting. Therefore, with this technique, no openings are prepared in the affected areas.
Other advantages of DHI hair transplantation:
Since numerous openings are not required, it is possible to insert a higher number of roots. This results in an even denser hair fullness with DHI hair transplantation than is already the case with the FUE technique. This is also a reason why the treatment with DHI hair transplantation takes longer. However, because there are no openings in the transplant areas, the healing process is much faster.
Since no openings are necessary, the healing process is also faster. On the other hand, this method allows for a faster healing process because there is no incision. The most important feature of hair transplantation performed with this method is that it minimises the time that the grafts taken for transplantation remain outside the body, making them healthier and stronger. No holes are made in the areas where the hair is implanted and the hair follicles are painlessly implanted directly into your scalp. The DHI technique is a very specialised technique of hair transplantation using the FUE technique, which can be performed in some hair transplant centres around the world, including Turkey.
How is DHI hair transplantation performed?
In hair transplantation with the standard FUE method, the grafts/follicles (hair roots) are classified together. The harvested grafts then undergo an enhancement process by the surgeon before transplantation and after they are ready for transplantation, they are carefully placed into the canals or incisions. The DHI method can be considered a technique where the grafting procedure is done individually. Unlike the strip method, no incision is made in the DHI technique. The hair transplantation is done by creating individual round natural channels according to the natural hair growth direction using a very fine needle. Thanks to the special needle, the grafts can be implanted one after the other in the desired density.
Advantages of hair transplantation with the DHI technique:
The biggest advantage of this method is the density. The density of hair achieved with this method is about twice that of the strip or horizontal incision method, namely 40 to 60 grafts per square centimetre. This density provides excellent coverage. The possibility of implanting the hair follicles at different angles according to the natural direction of growth allows for a more natural look and more successful results, especially in sensitive areas such as the hairline.
